Have you ever slept with sheep under one roof? Middenmank is the place where you can try it. The word “middenmank” comes from the Low German dialect and means something like “in the middle of it”. That´s where you find this resort: in the middle of a pretty village in the north-eastern part of Germany. Originally, the Gutshaus Landsdorf was the heart of a 600-acre farm. After drastic changes to the buildings during in the years of the German division, the Schäfer family bought the estate 2002 and started to carefully renovate the main building, annexes and the park. The two wings of the main building, which were constructed between 1862-1905 in a neoclassical style, today house the rooms of the owners, an spacious banquet hall and four apartments for guests. The apartments are in a modern style with contemporary furniture and art objects.
Gutshaus Landsdorf is a good choice as a destination for families whose children want to explore the more than 7 acres of parkland, or for travelers who are looking for something “off the tourist routes” in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Rugged bluffs, miles of white sandy beaches, primeval forests: The Island of Zingst belongs to the “Fischerland-Darß-Zingst” Peninsula between the Bodden (lagoon) and the Baltic Sea. The Schloss Schmarsow (Schmarsow Castle) was build in 1698 and is one of the oldest buildings of the region. In 2006, it was carefully renovated and is today not only the home of the owners but a place for holiday guest. Four apartments are located in the west wing of the building. Their names, blue, green, yellow and marble, show their individual interior design concepts. This has allowed to keep alive the character of the old house.
For guest who prefer a even quieter place, the former gardener’s cottage is also available. It’s just 100 meters away from the castle.
