Located directly on the Achterwasser, the flats of different sizes in the listed, thatched Alte Scheune Loddin invite you to take a break.
The island of Usedom is as enchanting as it is varied: also known as the “green island”, it offers long sandy beaches, vast dune landscapes and traditional seaside resorts as well as unspoilt nature, lakes and moors in the hinterland. The former Loddin barn, which has been lovingly and lavishly renovated, is located directly on the Achterwasser, a lagoon of the Peene River, which flows into the Baltic Sea here. It houses seven holiday flats for two to eight people, which combine the original charm of the old building with contemporary comfort.
At first glance, the thatched roof is particularly striking – the house radiates a natural cosiness thanks to the typical construction style of the region. The listed façade has been largely preserved, only the gable end facing the water was completely glazed in the course of the renovation and opens up the view of the surrounding nature. On the top floor – the flats have open galleries with sleeping facilities in addition to the bedrooms – large windows provide additional light and bright rooms. The interior of the flats is simple but cosy – old wooden furniture meets modern individual pieces. The old wooden beams and floors create a warm atmosphere throughout the interior.
All flats have a terrace or balcony. In addition, a large lawn offers plenty of space to play ball or relax and read in a deckchair. A reed path leads directly to the Achterwasser (where you can go surfing and sailing) and the Baltic Sea can also be reached by bike. In addition, there are numerous picturesque places worth seeing on Usedom that are just waiting to be discovered – and neighbouring Poland is not far away either. And best of all: with an average of 1906 hours of sunshine a year, Usedom is one of the sunniest regions in Germany – so there’s a good chance you’ll be able to explore the charming landscape in the sunshine.
What to do
Usedom offers all kinds of outdoor activities - from swimming (there is direct access to the Achterwasser), water sports (surfing, kiting, sailing) and fishing, you can go cycling, horse riding, minigolfing, go-karting or have fun in the climbing forest. In addition, the traditional seaside resorts, the surrounding villages and the hinterland offer beautiful excursion destinations.
