The small town Locorotondo (“round city”), located about 12 km from the Adriatic coast in Apulia, has a circular medieval old town and is one of the „Borghi più belli d’Italia“, the most beautiful villages in Italy. The narrow streets are lined with white limestone houses whose steep roofs are covered with stone slabs. The apartment Via Garibaldi 41 is located near the church Chiesa Madre in the first and second floor of a typical old building. In accordance with local architecture, the lower floor – with living room and sleeping alcove – has a vaulted ceiling; the upper floor – with bedroom, dining room, kitchen and bathroom – a barrel vault. The gleaming white walls highlight the historic building structure with ornamental tiles and furnishings in the Italian design style of the 50s. From the second floor, a staircase leads up to a large roof terrace with views over the rooftops of the city and of the Valle d’Itria.
Next door is the flat Via Garibalidi 43, which can be reached via the same external staircase. It can be rented as a stand-alone appartment for two people, but is also well suited for combined use with the neighbouring appartment. The living room with small kitchen is on the 1st floor (with impressive cross vault of 3.70 metres high), and the bedroom with access to a small terrace is located on the 2nd floor.
What to do
The impressive historical sites Alberobello, Ostuni and Cisternino and the Baroque Bishop city Martina Franca are located in the vicinity. In the bathing season from May to October the coast around Savelletri and Torre Canne offers many beautiful sandy and rocky beaches. Locorotondo is the center of the wine growing region of the same name.
Why we like this house
Sensitively renovated and stylishly furnished apartments. The roof terrace with a view over the roofs of the historic city is particularly beautiful.
This house is great for
Couples, small families. If both apartments are rented together, also suitable for larger families or holidays with friends.
