Staying in the ilse.dein landloft apartment feels like living in the countryside—but with an urban touch! On the island of Rügen, Maike and Ralf Haug converted a historical farmhouse located near the residential town of Putbus and now live in part of the building themselves. They have converted the former stable into a 120-square-metre holiday apartment. Its name reminds of the owner, Ilse, who lived in the farmhouse all her life. Today, Ilse would barely recognise her old barn. Strandvilla auf der Ostsee

Due to its location on a pier in the Baltic Sea resort of Olpenitz near Kappeln, a town situated on the Schlei, the Strandvilla gives guests the impression of living in the middle of the Baltic Sea. To the front you can enjoy a view of a bathing bay, to the back you have a wide view over the Baltic Sea and the Schleimünde nature reserve. The Boomerang House

Modern architecture in an olive grove: The Boomerang House is a B&B with only two guest suites, situated in a secluded olive grove near the village of Sivas in southern Crete. Altes Schulhaus

With a wide view over green pastures, the holiday home Altes Schulhaus is situated on a dwelling mound in the heart of Eiderstedt, a peninsula in the German federal state of Schleswig-Holstein. It shares the idyllic location on the extensive property surrounded by a canal with the Friesensteern, an old barn that has been converted into a holiday home. In the past, the teacher used to live in the small house, where he also taught the children living in the vicinity. Now the completely renovated cottage is a cosy holiday home, which offers space for four people on 65 square metres.
