Mas le Clos Souris

Mas le Clos Souris – near the small village of Fons sur Lussan in the southern French département of Gard – was once an artist’s residence. A Hungarian painter named Joseph lived and worked here in this 16th century farmhouse until his death in 2010. The present owners bought the nigh-ruined property in 2013. Through a renovation process that lasted 5 years, they have transformed it into a unique holiday home in which you can still sense the creative atmosphere.

Schmidhuber

On the outskirts of Tabing, a small village near Bavaria’s Chiemsee, the outbuilding of an historic farmhouse has been replaced by modern timber architecture. Türalihus

The Türalihus is part of a historic ensemble of buildings in the centre of Valendas, Switzerland. This small mountain village on the banks of the Rhine in the Safien Valley is known for its stately town houses. First built in 1485, the Türalihus has been extended multiple times over the centuries – with annexes, additional levels, and the stairwell from which the house derives its name. The house stood empty from 1941 until 2007, when the Swiss “Vacations in a Listed Building” Foundation acquired it from the son of the well-known Swiss architect Rudolf Olgiati and transformed it into the holiday home it is today.

La Tour Sarrazine

La Tour Sarrazine in the village of Montaren near the southern French renaissance town of Uzès is a medieval tower dating to the 12th century. The building was restored over the course of five years and transformed into a unique B&B, in which combining authenticity and comfort was of the highest priority. New elements are clearly recognisable as such, but have been designed in a neutral mode that doesn’t steal the limelight from the historic building itself.
