Luxury designed casually. Chalet Stegerwiese in the sports town of Kitzbühel stages contemporary architecture with sophisticated flair against an archaic mountain backdrop. And it does so without any fuss, but in relaxed elegance. Understatement is writ large here, at least in the language of form.
The high-quality furnishings, on the other hand, leave nothing to be desired. Up to eight people can find a private retreat, peace and mountain top bliss in the spacious, three-storey holiday house at the foot of the Kitzbüheler Horn with a view of the Wilder Kaiser.
The design concept spans the gap between tradition and zeitgeist and combines rural architecture, regional materials and craftsmanship with modern elements. In this way, natural, soft colours, shapes and elements sometimes meet the Far East, sometimes glamour. In the open plan dining and living area, the free-standing kitchen unit plays the main role, flanked by a cosy sofa corner complete with fireplace. The three bright bedrooms and their en suite bathrooms are decorated in warm tones with lots of wood, natural stone and glass. In addition, a “home office” designed in stone pine wood with a bunk for sleeping offers a pleasant workflow on holiday.
In the basement, guests can enjoy deep relaxation or exercise until their muscles ache – be it in their own wellness area, fitness room, ski room or home cinema.
What to do
Hiking, skiing, cross-country skiing or mountain biking in the mountain spectacle of the Kitzbühel Alps (from the Grasberge to the Kitzbüheler Horn and the legendary Hahnenkamm), highlight for skiing enthusiasts: the Hahnenkamm downhill race, après-ski with a sophisticated touch, summer walks or winter snowshoe hikes across alpine meadows, the romance of mountain huts with alpine culinary delights, swimming in crystal-clear lakes, a wide range of wellness offers, yoga courses, four golf courses as well as sightseeing, shopping and dolce vita in the picturesque old town.
