A magnificent mountain panorama and pure air are the constant companions when spending a holiday at the Faazihaus in the Swiss Alps. The solid timber building on a sunny south-facing slope in the tiny mountain village of Martisberg was built in the 1990s on the foundations of a historical farmhouse (a so-called heathen house) and stood empty for decades in its shell condition. Now it has finally come to life!
The owner of the neighbouring Josihaus bought the house and converted it into a holiday residence with two apartments. These can be connected with each other so that the house can be rented as a whole. Each of the apartments extends over two floors and has a 35-square-metre, open-plan living, dining and cooking area with a large balcony, two bedrooms and a bathroom. Wood on the ceilings and walls ensures a cosy ambience, colourful textiles set cheerful highlights. The house is beautiful in every season: in summer you can enjoy the view from the balcony, in winter from the wood stove.
What to do
The Binntal Nature Park and the UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site Aletsch Glacier are nearby. The Altsch Arena skiing area is within easy reach and a beautiful hiking area is right on your doorstep.
Hiking; excursions to the surrounding villages, to towns in the French part of Valais and to Italy; thermal baths, sauna and swimming baths, skiing, snowboarding, tobogganing, winter hiking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing; classical music festival in the nearby village of Ernen.
Why we like this house
The quiet location in the small village and the panoramic views make the apartments an ideal retreat in the mountains.
This house is great for
Couples or making holidays with one’s family and friends (if the entire house is rented); nature lovers and those seeking peace and quiet.
