A tower dating to the year 1491 presides defiantly over the promenade of the Dutch harbor town of Vlissingen. A relic of the old city gate, for a long time it was used as a prison. Today you can sit back and enjoy life here: on the lower floor there is a restaurant, while in the upper section of the tower you will find a unique holiday suite. Extending over two floors, the suite is composed of a living area on the lower level and a sleeping area above it. While lying in bed, you can observe the shipping traffic through the porthole windows and an extraordinary view up into the wooden roof construction of the tower. The surrounding balcony offers a complete panorama across the Western Scheldt estuary, the beach promenade and the city – as well as plenty of fresh sea air.
