Wild and romantic nature surrounds the Wanderlust holiday home in secluded Treseburg, a dreamy village at the entrance to the Bode Gorge in the Harz Mountains. This historic half-timbered house has been elaborately renovated and converted into three holiday apartments. The special thing about this place? Two apartments have been planned in such a way that they can be flexibly occupied by different numbers of guests – and can also be booked together.
The 58m2 ground floor apartment (apartment 1) can accommodate up to six people; the 68m2 apartment on the first floor (apartment 2) up to eight people. Each apartment has two bedrooms in which, in addition to double beds, further sleeping places are available in the form of modern alcove beds, a sofa bed, and bunk beds. Instead of living rooms, there are eat-in kitchens. The kitchen of apartment 1 with its long table for up to 14 people can be used as a communal kitchen if both apartments are rented together.
Under the roof there is an 80m2 studio for two, which has a fireplace and a bath. With its open, wooden roof truss, this apartment has a particularly rustic and spacious ambience.
Each apartment has a balcony or veranda with a view of the river Bode, which is only separated from the house by a street. The house is situated on a 3000m2 property with a meadow and a wooded slope. Here you will also find a tree house, where you can get especially close to nature.
What to do
The location in the Bodetal, one of the most spectacular gorges of the Harz Mountains, makes the house a paradise for hikers. Various hiking trails cross Treseburg, some run directly along the house, e.g. the Harzer Hexenstieg. Mountain bikers, trail runners and nature lovers will also get their money's worth here. In the surrounding area historical towns like Quedlinburg and Wernigerode are waiting to be discovered. The town of Thale with the Roßtrappe, the Hexentanzplatz and a mountain theatre is also worth a visit. In Treseburg there are a few restaurants, which can be reached in a few minutes on foot.
Why we like this house
A lavishly renovated house, where historical charm meets modern elements. The modern alcoves give the rooms a special character. Thanks to their flexibility, you can spend your holiday here for two, or with up to 14 people. When fully occupied, the house has the character of a stylish mountain chalet.
