If you are looking for a place to wind down, you will find it here. In the midst of the Lower Bavarian picture postcard landscape in the region of Bad Birnbach, the Hofgut Hafnerleiten (Hafnerleiten Estate) offers a retreat in harmony with nature that combines the elements in a down-to-earth and architecturally subtle way. Right in the middle of nowhere, you find award-winning architecture inspired by the scattered hay barns of the region. Ten themed houses, perfect for couples’ getaways, blend into the landscape and its history and yet are skilfully out of the ordinary. What they all have in common is lots of wood, light and ample comfort; their location and design are individually coordinated. The Baumhaus (Tree House) or the Haus am Wald (Forest House) for example, offer rejuvenating and uplifting experiences. Those who prefer to dangle their feet in the water can drift through their holidays in the Wasser- or Bootshaus (Water House or Boathouse) And the Gartenhaus (Garden House) or the Wiesenhaus (Meadow House) which is also barrier-free, provide grounded moments full of new energy. All the houses have large terraces with outdoor fireplaces and wood-burning stoves for those cosy moments. Four of the themed houses also have their own sauna.
The three Rottal Valley longhouses with their weather-beaten black exterior and 80 sqm offer plenty of space for longer stays, from the fully equipped kitchen and an additional bunk for reading or switching off, to the bathtub by the fireplace or under the roof with a view of the starry sky. Large window niches provide additional surprising views over the forest clearing from the Haus am Wald (Forest House), over the open fields from the Haus am Feld (Meadow House) or over the water from the Haus am See (Lake House).
Personal service is a priority for the Hofgut. In the morning, the team brings a delicious breakfast right to your door. In the evening, guests meet for an aperitif in the courtyard and collect their starters and desserts. The main course is then delivered to the cottage or to the garden – whichever you prefer. It could hardly be more relaxed. Except perhaps in one of the five relaxation cubes, which offer options for sauna, meditation, rest or massages. In short: ultimate well-being and the rediscovery of slowness.
