Located on a picturesque village square, Hotel Alpina is just a few minutes walk away from Peter Zumthor’s famous thermal bath. The hotel has been family owned since 1929 and is now run by the third generation of the Kühne-Schnider family. The more than 100-year-old building has been remodeled several times and thoughtfully modernised by Grisons architect Gion Caminada. The redesigned main facade is gray-plastered with different sized windows in deep wooden frames – with some panes set flush, some far back. This looks modern and yet blends into the traditional environment. In the house you will encounter a warm, subtle and elegant atmosphere. The furniture in the guest rooms was made by local carpenters and the bathrooms are lined with Vals quartzite.
