The Ickelhäuser, three listed farmhouses in the Franconian town of Ickelheim, invite you to spend your holidays in a historical ambience. Carefully dismantled and properly renovated, the original appearance of the houses was largely restored. Ickelhaus 1, a former administrative building of the Teutonic Order from 1754, offers space for up to 10 people on 250 sqm and is furnished with antique furniture dating back to the 17th to the mid-19th century to match the style of the building. Modern bathrooms and a high-quality kitchen provide contemporary comfort, while the fireplaces in the living and dining rooms ensure cosy comfort.
Ickelhaus 2, a farmhouse from 1829, is surrounded by greenery and orchards at the end of a quiet side street within sight of Ickelhaus 1. The wood-paneled living room with the historic stove is the heart of the 110 sqm front house apartment. Modern kitchen facilities and bathrooms as well as antique furniture round off the overall impression. The second 90 sqm apartment is situated in the former barn tract. The open plan living area is flooded with plenty of natural light thanks to the floor to ceiling picture window. In addition, many small windows offer a variety of views. Upstairs are the master bedroom with its visible rubble masonry, the so-called “wood chamber” with two single beds, and a modern bathroom. Both flats can be connected via the former stable corridor on the ground floor and then offer space for up to ten people.
Ickelhaus 3 is a farmhouse dating from 1682 that offers 260 sqm, seven bedrooms and five bathrooms for up to 14 people. The old building fabric meets modern details: In the former stable area there is a large kitchen with cooking island. The dining area with long table opens to the garden with industrial windows. In several rooms there is an interesting interplay between the old building fabric and the modern relief-like wall art by the wood sculptor Friedrich Kern.
