Julius in der Pfalz
A stately, spacious winery property has been filled with new life and transformed into a complex with apartments, a wine shop, cooking workshop, sauna and two gardens. The more than 300-year-old ensemble comprises a large winemaker´s house, a vaulted cellar as well as five other barns and buildings grouped around a south-facing courtyard. During renovation and conversion of the estate the old substance has been maintained and supplemented in a modern way. Thus, old and new now are successfully combined: Guests stay in bright, light-filled and modern furnished rooms in historic environment. In the barn, which has been converted into a cooking workshop, polished concrete meets old walls of traditional red sandstone. The vaulted cellar now serves as a spa area with a sauna in the former wine tanks.
