The BauNetz editorial team tells the story of the conversion of a listed ruin in Faro into a residential building with an architectural office and two holiday flats. With Casa 1923, architect Vânia Brito Fernandes, who together with her office PAr Plataforma de Arquitectura is also responsible for the conversion of Casa Modesta, among other things, has created a great deal of poetic minimalism behind the artistic façade.
Anyone interested in the architectural heritage of ‘South Modern’ and Art Deco in Faro should also keep an eye on the creators of The Modernist. They organise an annual Modernist Weekend in Faro and have created their own city guide to numerous sights.
