Loblocher Hof is a winery built in 1841 in the picturesque wine village of Gimmeldingen on the edge of the Palatinate Forest. But wine has not been produced within these walls for a long time: for over 50 years, the rooms were used as a warehouse and workshop before the present owners bought the estate and renovated it extensively. Each building has been restored to its original state, yet redesigned to let them to be used in a contemporary manner.
Five apartments have been built in the outbuildings. Rustic beams and fair-faced old sandstone walls create a countryside ambience, while modern elements such as steel window frames and stairs and the glazed glass walls of the attic studio’s bathroom provide interesting contrasts. The apartments are grouped around an idyllic courtyard bordered at the front by an impressive and atmospheric vaulted cellar with a church-like sandstone façade. Each apartment has either its own terrace or a reserved seating area in the courtyard.
What to do
Walks in the vineyards, hiking in the Palatinate Forest, cycling, excellent restaurants within walking distance. The village of Gimmeldingen is known for its almond trees and the almond blossom festival.
Why we like this house
The idyllic courtyard with its almond trees, the stylish apartments and the wine country location: here you can enjoy the beautiful sides of life.
This house is great for
Pleasure seekers and wine lovers (instead of a mini bar there is a maxi bar with 20 different wines from the region).
