Today’s newsletter is addressed to the dog owners amongst our readers. Although dogs are not permitted in the majority of our houses, there are some where pooches are very much welcome! All of the houses presented in this issue offer an environment in which you can do a lot with your dog: on the beach, by the river, or in the mountains, activities with dogs are always a lot of fun.

Newsletter: Pooches welcome. Their owners too!

Today’s newsletter is addressed to the dog owners amongst our readers. They’re often disappointed when we present houses in which furry friends are not allowed. Although dogs are not permitted in the majority of our houses, there are some where pooches are very much welcome! All of the houses presented in this issue offer an environment in which you can do a lot with your dog: on the beach, by the river, or in the mountains, activities with dogs are always a lot of fun.

Dünenhaus_01 on the dunes of the Wadden Sea in St. Peter-Ording on the Eiderstedt peninsula fits in perfectly with its surroundings: the colours of the beach can be found in the lime-coloured stone facade, in the slate-grey wooden frames of the windows, in the sand-coloured tiles, and the whitewashed oak timber boards. The vastness and clarity of the northern German landscape is reflected in the open, light-flooded interior design and the modern, minimalist furnishings. There is room for up to six people and a dog, who can all enjoy a kilometre-wide beach with two huge areas in which you can let dogs run free.

Heideloft and Heidelodge are located directly on the banks of the leisurely winding Aller River. Nature is omnipresent in the houses, which can accommodate two and three guests respectively: you can look out over the wide, green landscape through floor-to-ceiling window fronts in each. Around each house there is a lot of space for your four-legged friends to romp around in: the Heideloft has a fenced garden of 1,150 m²; the property of the Heidelodge totals 3000 m². For water-loving dogs (and humans) there is direct access to the Aller.

The Alpine Lodges Chesa Plattner and Chesa al Parc are two apartment buildings in a beautiful panoramic location in the centre of Pontresina, Switzerland. The Alpine Lodges are modern, but designed with reference to the traditions of the Engadine. Warm wood and soft fabrics meet hard concrete and form exciting compositions. The solid wood furniture is based on local traditions, yet is modern in its form. Both houses have a spa area and offer dog owners a special service: as an additional service, dog-sitting can be booked, so you can go on excursions without your four-legged friend. And if you want to take him or her along you can go for long walks in the Engadine mountain landscape.

AUFBERG 1110 und AUFBERG 1113 are retreats in the heart of Austria’s Hohe Tauern mountain range. Each house has two holiday apartments, which can be rented separately or together. The aesthetic design of the houses with clear lines, natural materials and fine details makes it easy to find peace and relaxation here. The magnificent mountain panorama also contributes to this. Through the large windows you can enjoy constant views of the Alps. The secluded location of the houses at the end of a small mountain pass is ideal for dog owners. You can start hiking tours directly from the front door.

Directly on the sea front and only 5 minutes from the port, Villa des Dunes is located in the small Breton fishing village of Lesconil. From the outside the slate covered house in its typical Breton architecture looks rather small, but inside it will surprise you with a spacious open plan living, dining and cooking area, and enough space for 8 people. The spa area in the basement with a sauna and Jacuzzi is perfect for colder days. And when the weather is fine, the terrace and garden offer plenty of space and beautiful views of the sea and the offshore islands. The beach can be reached via a private gate from the garden. You can also go on long walks along the coast on the old Customs Officers’ path.
