The Masseria Moroseta B&B near the Apulian town of Ostuni is surrounded by a 5-hectare ecological olive grove. The bright white building is a modern interpretation of the traditional Apulian farm, the “Masseria”. The wall on its entrance side appears stark and closed off. But stepping through a narrow opening you reach an inviting central courtyard, around which all the rooms are grouped. In each side wing there are three rooms or suites, while the common areas are housed within the main building in between, which provides access to the terrace and pool. This part of the Masseria is slightly elevated on dry stone walls and offers wide ocean views; in the lower floor there is a spa. A staircase running centrally through its exterior wall leads up to the roof terrace. The guest rooms each have a small garden surrounded by walls or a terrace overlooking the fields. All rooms feature traditional vaulted ceilings and 80cm thick walls, which ensure that the internal temperatures are pleasant even in the summer heat. The rural simplicity of the architecture is reflected in the minimalist interior design.
What to do
An outdoor pool and spa with a sauna, steam bath and indoor pool. Massages and yoga.
The Masseria is 3 km from Ostuni and the Apulian coast. Excursions to the Apulian towns and villages. The Torre Guaceto Natural Park with its beautiful beaches is 12 km away.
