Once the “skyscraper village” Bad Gastein was popular with the jet set, now the place with the Belle Époque architecture attracts creative people, especially to the hotel Miramonte. The hotel manager Evelyn Ikrath and her husband, the architect Ike Ikrath, have brought fresh air into the old building and have realized their vision of urban life in breathtaking natural surroundings. The vintage-chic with lots of original 60s designs was retained; supplemented with contemporary design, a casual and stylish look was created. The bar – the centerpiece of the hotel – could have come from an old James Bond movie. You will encounter a vibrant atmosphere, a mixture of chic salon and living room. The Miramonte is now a retreat and meeting place for those looking for inspiration and relaxation. All-round comfort and enjoyment is ensured by many details such as beds made of Swiss pine, the late-sleeper breakfast and the informal dinner, the library of art and architecture books, and of course the spectacular panoramic view of the city and the mountain tops.
