A quiet oasis in the city! The Remise is a listed historic building complex located in the second backyard on Kastanienallee, one of the main streets in the district of Prenzlauer Berg in Berlin. The main coach house, shed and a timbered house enclose a courtyard, a community and communication area for the different inhabitants of the ensemble. A family, an art metalworker and Software development company currently live and work in the main house. The shed and the timbered house are guesthouses. The Remise offers lodgings with an authentic atmosphere.
The Fachwerkremise (half-timbered remise) is open-plan in order to preserve the special charm of the space. On the ground floor is the living area with a sitting area by the wood stove, dining table and kitchen. The sleeping gallery with two double beds can be reached via a steep ladder. The Stallremise (stable shed) extends over three floors: On the ground floor there is a combined living, dining and cooking area and on the first floor a bedroom with a double bed and an additional couch as well as the bathroom. From the bathroom, a steep staircase leads to the small tower room, where 1-2 persons can stay overnight if necessary. The simple, minimalist furniture was designed by the architect especially for the guest apartments.

Why we like this house
Backyard Idyll in the middle of Berlin: a nice alternative to a hotel stay.
This house is great for
For single travellers, couples or families. The accommodation is not suitable for small children due to the open design and steep stairs.
