RioMarie im Oscar-Niemeyer-Haus

Back to the 50s! The Oscar-Niemeyer House – located in the Hansa district in the centre of Berlin – was designed by the Brazilian architect for the International Building Exhibition in 1957. The building with its distinct V-shaped pillars reflects the optimism of the post-war period.

Also, the apartment RioMarie exudes the spirit of the economic boom years. It is stylishly furnished with reclaimed originals as well as design classics from the 50s that are still manufactured today. From the floor of linoleum to the door handles everything matches the style of that time. The kitchen cabinets have the typical small-scale sliding doors and radiator covers as well as the fitted wardrobe in the hall take on the hole pattern of the elevator tower. However, the bathrooms, kitchen, and technical equipment clearly date to the 21st Century. And the floor plan is no longer as it was in the 50s: An open plan living kitchen area, two bedrooms with a dressing room, and two bathrooms now give a spacious feeling with open views from east to west.
