Salvinia Lodge

The Polish region Zulawy is a landscape with endless tree lined avenues, sleepy little villages and the beautiful beaches of the Amber Coast. The area is also home to the traditional and historically significant houses with beautiful front gables. One of the oldest preserved houses of this type is the Salvinia Lodge. The half-timber building of 1789 has been lovingly restored over a period of two years and now serves as a holiday for 6 people. From the outside the building almost looks like it did when Protestant settlers lived here. Inside, however, the former inhabitants would not recognize it anymore: There are still the old beams and walls of wood or clay plaster, but these are now combined with contemporary designer furniture and modern bathrooms. In addition there are unexpected details such as the comic walls in one of the bathrooms or an old Indian door, that fits marvelously into the Polish house. The lodge comprises three spacious (60 – 70 sqm) bedrooms/living areas, each with fireplace or stove and its own bathroom, as well as a common kitchen and a dining area with a long table.

What to do

With its natural parks, beaches and waterways, the region of the former Marie Werder offers a variety of leisure activities: hiking, biking, swimming, kayaking, riding and much more
Excursions: Malbork, Frombork, Gdansk, Sopot, Stegna, museum Stutthoff

Why we like this house

A holidyay home that merges the atmosphere of past times with modern design.

A house with many possibilities for retreat, suitable for (larger) families as well as small groups.
