Looking at the five red wooden houses, you get a hint of that Astrid Lindgren feeling. The holiday resort is located in the north of Germany, in the former fishing village of Loddin on the island of Usedom – surrounded by pine trees, rowan trees and sea buckthorn, between the Baltic Sea and the Achterwasser, a lagoon of the Peene stream that flows into the sea here. In this picturesque setting, the wooden houses, painted in their original Swedish red colour, look like a small Swedish enclave.
The 14 holiday flats of different sizes each offer space for two to four people (flats) or for four to eight people (maisonette flats). With their spacious floor plans and large windows, the interiors are bright and friendly. The furnishings are simple yet of a very high quality: materials such as granite, marble and stainless steel create a modern ambience, while wide floorboards, exposed wooden beams and furniture made of cedar and oak create a cosy atmosphere. All flats have direct access to a private terrace and are equipped with a fireplace and sauna – perfect for relaxing autumn and winter evenings.
Usedom, also known as the “green” island, offers long sandy beaches, vast dune landscapes, traditional seaside resorts and picturesque villages as well as unspoilt nature, lakes and moors in the hinterland. Whether you are an active holidaymaker or looking for relaxation, everyone is sure to find something to their liking here. The island is also one of the sunniest regions in Germany – one more reason to spend your (holiday) time here.
What to do
The nearby beach can be reached by foot in around ten minutes. In addition to water sports and fishing, Usedom offers wonderful hiking and cycling tours, mini golf, horse riding, karting, a climbing forest or excursions to the seaside resorts.
Why we like this house
Situated close to nature, the houses are furnished in a simple but high-quality style. The fireplace and sauna guarantee cosy autumn and winter afternoons.
This house is great for
The houses are an ideal holiday destination for families. As they are mostly barrier-free, they are also suitable for guests with limited mobility.
