Vidovići on the Croatian island of Cres is an old village perched on a hill with a wide view over the sea to Istria. Tightly nestled together, the old stone houses brave the bora winds. The Sisters-Homes Vidovići 5 consists of a traditional three-storey stone house and two small outbuildings in the middle of a Mediterranean garden. In the immediate vicinity of the property is the “guvno”, a paved area that was traditionally used for drying and milling wheat and where guests today enjoy the view, especially at sunset. The stone houses have been thoughtfully renovated, many old elements have been deliberately preserved and form an exciting contrast to the modern steel fixtures.
The large apartment in the main house extends over three upper levels, connected by a freestanding, sculptural spiral staircase. The modern kitchen with dining area, a fireplace and a verandah with sea views is on the first floor. The living room is on the gallery level on the second floor and on the third floor there is a bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. A second apartment is located on the ground floor of the house, consisting of a bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, a small living room and a patio with direct access to the garden. The two apartments in the main house can only be rented together and are connected by an external staircase. The two outbuildings (Small Spaces: Magazine and Mali Raj) each have a living room, a sleeping gallery, a bathroom and a patio. In the past, bread was baked in the Magazine, the Mali Raj was the village tavern. Guests in the Small Spaces apartments have access to a communal kitchen and dining room. All guests in the Sisters-Homes can use the garden with the patio and the outdoor shower and can enjoy the view over the sea from there. The Small Spaces apartments can be rented separately or together (for a group or a family for up to eight people). Air conditioning ensures pleasant temperatures in the rooms in summer.
