Situated on the edge of the Black Forest in the small town of Lahr in Baden, the Palais Wunderlich seems to have fallen out of time – and yet is both modern and timeless. The heritage-listed patrician house with the main building, the long side wings, the inner courtyard, a garden parlour and the garden were extensively renovated over a number of years and rebuilt with great respect for the historical substance. The interior is characterised by a harmonious combination of old elements, antique furniture and contemporary design, such as industrial lighting and modern kitchens and bathrooms. The Palais has various communal areas and is suitable for events of different types and sizes – from smaller family celebrations in the lounge or in the historical garden parlour, to team events and seminars, to wedding parties. The vaulted cellar in the main building with its columns and exposed brickwork provides an atmospheric setting for larger celebrations. Wine lovers also get their money’s worth: wine tastings are organised on request – on site or in the nearby vineyard.
