The Box House

Who hasn’t dreamed of their own private swimming bay? At least on holiday this dream can come true, because the Box House, which is located on a peninsula directly on the Atlantic, has its own bay with a sandy beach. The south side of the house has floor-to-ceiling windows on both levels and offers views of the bay, smaller islands and a picturesque fishing village.

On the ground floor there is a large, open space for living, dining and cooking. The colours of a red cube timber-framed kitchen are an allusion to the Canadian national colours red and white. Bar a small guest room on the ground floor, all bedrooms are on the first floor. A terrace with a heated swimming pool is sheltered between the main house and the pool house and invites you to relax. But the large seating deck integrated in rocks on the oceanfront is a good alternative as well.

What to do

Kayaking, fishing, whale watching, excursions to the surrounding cities, e.g. Halifax (museums, Busker's Festival, harbour, shopping, restaurants) Lunenburg (World Heritage Site), Annapolis Valley ( vineyards, historic towns), Kejim-Kuchik (National Park with lakes, canoe and kayak rental, camping).

Why we like this house

Absolute solitude, a private bay and dreamlike views to the Atlantic Ocean!

This house is great for

Holidays with family and friends.
