Villa CP

Surrounded by cork oak forests, the Villa CP rests on a hill between the Catalan city of Girona and the Costa Brava. Original stone walls, modern architecture and sustainability meet in perfect harmony, set against breathtaking natural surroundings. Within the old farmhouse’s stone structure, which was preserved in accordance with local building regulations, you’ll find a contemporary designed home. Large window openings flood the rooms with light and allow stunning views out into nature. Corten steel is a central design feature: Used for doors and window frames, its clear edges and rusty surfaces form an exciting contrast to the rustic walls. The metal’s texture and finish creates a near poetic effect in the shape of the perforated door to the wet room and lends the staircase a sculptural effect. The bedrooms are located on the ground floor, while the living rooms can be found on the first floor and offer the best views. As the house sits on a slope, you have direct access to the garden from the upper floor – and to its saline pool (6×20 metres).

Owner

We're Co and Guy, architect and amateur woodworker. We love cooking, we spend a lot of time looking after this beautiful garden, and our guests are welcome to share the organic fruit and vegetables that we grow all year round in the warm, sunny climate. We designed and built Villa CP for our family and friends and now we also share it with other guests. We love this beautiful area with its fresh air, peace and quiet (and nearby beaches!) and we look forward to helping to discover Catalonia.
