Gorges, valleys and high plateaus characterize the hinterland of the Sicilian Baroque towns of Noto and Siracusa. In a beautiful setting with sweeping views of this fascinating canyon landscape, the Villa Domus is a dazzling white composition of several interconnected, linear structures. Large windows open the living area and kitchen out to the Cava Grande nature reserve. Polished concrete floors and a minimalist furnishings create an airy and light ambience. Patterned tiles set playful accents in the three bedrooms, and in the bathrooms volcanic rock washbasins evoke a purist aesthetic. The outdoor facilities feature the same straight-lined and simplistic design. The infinity pool and sun-deck with concrete loungers (and soft covers!) are bordered by dry stone walls that anchor the building within the Sicilian landscape.
