The Vulkaneifel house sits on a sunny southern slope with panoramic views of the valley “Kleine Kyll”. The wooden house uses the slope for a spiral arrangement of the rooms. Seven levels are grouped around a central core (with fireplace): From the entrance area a few steps lead up to the living room, followed by the kitchen with dining area and access to the balcony, a bedroom with en suite bathroom and a gallery under the roof (overlooking the living room). Going down from the entrance area you reach the second bedroom (also en suite) and one level further down the garden room with access to the terrace.
The pared-back interior design harmoniously connects the rooms: stairs, wall paneling and built-in furniture run like a “wooden” theme throughout the house. The staggered arrangement of the levels and the open design create changing perpectives into adjacent areas as well as views of the valley and the wooded hills.
