Zalig in Antwerpen are two holiday homes in the historic part of the Belgian city on the Scheldt river. In the old townhouses, exposed brick walls, old oak wood ceilings and original tiled floors set a contrast to floors and fixtures with a tadelakt-like coating, steel elements and natural materials.
The house at Leuwenstraat 9 is perfect for a stay of up to ten people. On the ground floor, which once housed a popular Volkscafé, you will find the holiday home’s dining room and open kitchen. The bistro-like decor – small tables lined up next to each other, a long bench and a kitchen that looks like a bar counter – has the flair of a restaurant. The third floor living room, with a gas fireplace and built-in sofas, has a relaxed club atmosphere. The bedrooms on the first and second floors are fitted with a double bed each, as well as bunk beds dating to the original townhouse, and sleep up to four people. There is another bedroom for two people under the roof.
Up to 14 guests can be accommodated in the house at Lange Ridderstraat 77. On the ground floor, in addition to the kitchen and dining area, there is also a sitting area by the fireplace and a sleeping gallery for two people. On the first and second floor there are a total of four bedrooms – each with its own bathroom – in the typical Zalig style.
