Or: “Time we take is time that gives us something”. (Ernst Ferstl – Heutzutage, 2006)
The 2021 peak season is drawing to a close and the pleasing conclusion is: There was a lot of travelling, discovering and exploring and the UA houses were blessed with full booking calendars and many guests. The latter, in turn, sent us their holiday impressions and experiences in and with the holiday architecture houses in countless feedback e-mails and comments, and so there are very personal impressions, enthusiastic odes, brief “thumbs up” and detailed travel reports among the respective guest entries. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all holidaymakers who have given us feedback!
Thanks to the press, word-of-mouth recommendations and guest feedback, the number of UA readers who give us a “carte blanche” without much hesitation is growing. “The houses presented by UA are all of high quality and grandiose”. Or: “You can’t go wrong with UA”. We are, of course, very pleased about that. But: there is a “but”.
As every year, isolated critical comments and constructive suggestions for improvement were valuable indicators for the homeowners and for ourselves to suggest and implement concrete improvements. A completely new phenomenon this year, however, were a handful of comments, the wording of which clearly indicated, or was hidden between the lines, absolute dissatisfaction with the house booked. We were concerned about this because objectively in the vast majority of cases there were no shortcomings.
In conversations with guests and hosts, a new problem emerged for us: Some guests book “blindly”, so to speak – on the recommendation of third parties and with complete confidence in the high quality of our holiday architecture houses – and do not really look at the house they are booking.
We are honoured and grateful that our reputation is so good, but we would like to make a serious recommendation at this point: Please, please, do not trust us blindly and take your time, take responsibility for your booking decision! We all have special needs, priorities and preferences with regard to our holidays: De gustibus…you know what we mean. And if a house doesn’t suit our very own taste, doesn’t have a certain feature or equipment that we take for granted, then a carte blanche quickly turns into a red card, an objectively perfect holiday home into a subjective nightmare.
It is true: All our houses are based on a special, high-quality concept – architecturally as well as in terms of content – which has made a lasting impression on us. This is what makes URLAUBSARCHITEKTUR special, this is what we are passionate about, and this is our commitment. However, this does not mean that all UA houses are the same, on the contrary, each one is a unique with its own character. In fact, you can find quiet beauty and clamorous luxury, simple wooden huts and noble country estates. There are houses with and without air-conditioning, with fixed lighting or deliberately diffuse lighting, with or without a bidet, with service or self-catering. Our hosts are just as varied as the houses, and their concept of hospitality is just as individual: present and talkative, invisible and quiet, unusually individual, traditional, elegant, informal, authentic. Our main aim is for you to find the holiday architecture that suits you and makes you happy. This requires a little time and careful consideration in advance. In doing so, the joy of anticipation will be even greater!
Yours sincerely, the UA team
