We (family of four with two kids aged 13 and 10) stayed at Chasa Tuoretta for a week in summer 2025. We had a ter­rific time, and tho­roughly enjoyed both the flat and the area. Ardez is of course a picture perfect Swiss village with a con­ve­nient Volg grocery store and a lovely local bakery. Scuol is equally won­derful and our trips there included river rafting and the thermal bath. A third high­light was the spec­ta­cular Swiss national park. A perfect holiday in many ways! Even makes you want to learn some Romansh — the Val­lader variety of course…

I also asked the kids to write what they thought:

A very com­for­table place, out of wood, it felt like a warm, wel­coming chalet. Two large bed­rooms and two bath­rooms, perfect for a family holiday throughout the whole year. It had also a nice view over­looking the cute little town where you could even hike up a hill to visit some ruins and from the flat it wasn’t even a long walk !

Wir hatten eine fan­tas­tische Zeit mit unserer Familie in der Brü­cken­villa. Es war unser zweiter Besuch und wieder einmal war es wie im Märchen. Wir sind von der Brücke direkt auf den Weih­nachts­markt gegangen – einfach herrlich! Die Villa ist blitz­sauber und es ist an nichts gespart. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder! Mon­schau für immer!

Wir hatten eine wun­derbare Woche im fan­tas­ti­schen Granite House. Gerade weil das Wetter Mitte Dezember nicht so toll war, hatten wir es super Cozy und warm, haben das Kamin Feuer ein­ge­heizt und dieses perfekt aus­ge­stattete Haus besonders genossen. Jeden Tag gab es frisch vom Baum aus den Garten Orangen, Man­da­rinen, Khaki….und alle Kräuter zum selber kochen aus dem Garten. Eine unver­gess­liche Zeit in einer wun­der­baren Natur bei beson­deren Gast­gebern!! Wir kommen wieder und werden es sehr gerne weiter emp­fehlen!!

Unsere Woche im November 2025 im The Frame House war wie ein Kurz­urlaub in einem perfekt durch­dachten Traumhaus — viel zu kurz, um all die Ein­drücke zu genießen. Vom ersten Moment an spürt man die Liebe zum Detail und die außer­ge­wöhn­liche Qua­lität in jedem Element des Hauses. Die großen Glas­fronten öffnen den Blick auf Dünen, See und Himmel und lassen die Natur förmlich ins Wohn­zimmer fließen. Jeder Raum ist hell, klar struk­tu­riert und zugleich so warm und ein­ladend, dass man sich sofort zuhause fühlt. Besonders die Aus­stattung hat uns über­wältigt: Fuß­bo­den­heizung, Sauna, Möbel-Klas­siker und hoch­wertige Mate­rialien, alles ist durch­dacht und makellos ver­ar­beitet — aber eben auch nicht “über-designed”. Auch unser Hund fühlte sich pudelwohl, genoss die Freiheit und die Nähe zur Natur. Das Zusam­men­spiel von Archi­tektur, Design und Umgebung schafft eine ein­malige Atmo­sphäre, die Ruhe, Komfort und Schönheit perfekt vereint. Wir hätten jede Minute ver­längern wollen, denn dieses Haus zieht einen sofort in seinen Bann. Wer hier­her­kommt, erlebt nicht einfach einen Urlaub, sondern ein kleines Stück Archi­tektur- und Natur­pa­radies, das man nie ver­gisst.

This was the best holiday for my eyes ever! Finally the eyes of the architect could rest. Very well done details, built in fur­ni­tures, great sel­ection of lamps and antiques. I honestly loved ever­y­thing about it. Great design, deli­cious food, beau­tiful hikes. I would love to go back with all my architect friends.

We spent a peaceful week during the quieter month of October and abso­lutely fell in love with the house and sur­rounding beaches. The house is beau­tifully appointed, with thoughtfully curated fur­nis­hings and artwork. We loved the layout, the large deck and the pool in the roof. Our check in was seamless, and we enjoyed the per­sonal touch of being shown around by the owners. The kitchen was splendid, with ever­y­thing we needed (and more). Beau­tiful towels, linen and even a mid-week cleaner to freshen things up. It was hard to leave at the end of the week! Thank you Andre for the perfect stay.

En arrivant sur le mont Gerbino, on découvre le CAPO ZAFERANO, magique mon­tagne qui émerge de l’eau pour fermer le golfe de Palerme.

Entrer dans la maison par cette pas­se­relle qui a tout d’un bateau. C’est un moment rare.

C’est la pre­mière vue sur ce paradis sur terre, baigné de nature face à la mer et sous la pro­tection du CAP

Tout est mer­veilleux dans cette maison, la ter­rasse qui est tou­jours à l’ombre, permet de déjeuner et dîner face à la mer, celle du dessous qui est tou­jours ensol­eillé permet de se réchauffer au rayon du soleil. L’intérieur est meublé avec une élé­gance authen­tique, des œuvres qui restent dans la mémoire et un confort idéal.

Des­cendre se baigner dans la crique privée est une pro­menade de charme au travers de la végé­tation.

La Roche est tra­vaillée pour accu­eillir un far­niente inou­bliable.

Entrer dans l’eau et le plus simple des bon­heurs.

Une fois qu’on est à la villa, on a plus envie de bouger, on se sent arrivé quelque part, quelque part propre à l’arrêt, à la con­tem­plation au plaisir et au charme.

Chacune des quatre chambres doubles à son caractère et permet de s’isoler. S’endormir au son de l’eau est un rêve.

Tout est cohérent et évident dans cette maison, sa forme, sa structure, ses espaces son rapport à la mer à la terre et au CAPO ZAFERRANO.

C’est une maison dans laquelle on entre, qu’on tra­verse que l’on con­tourne qu’on gravi qu’on domine, qui nous protège et nous accu­eille, une maison qui s’offre à chaque coin d’une vue d’un banc d’une ter­rasse.

Son archi­tecture est évi­dente, offert a la vie ouverte à la mer, baignée de nature, pro­fon­dément ancrée dans son lieu. Elle a été con­struite pour vivre en har­monie avec son envi­ron­nement par Armando, le père de Giacomo.

Giacomo est l’artisan d’un séjour inou­bliable par sa gen­til­lesse, ses con­seils son écoute, l’amour qu’il porte à cette maison, lui même Archi­tecte talen­tueux à lui seul les mots qui con­vi­ennent pour décrire ce lieu. Et sa trans­mission pour un séjour est un véri­table cadeau du cœur.

C’est une maison pour vivre.

Nous sommes venus passer des étés mer­veilleux, chaque arrivée repré­sente un moment de joie intense, le temps s’arrête pour devenir plaisir con­tem­plation et calme. Chaque départ fait la pro­messe d’un retour, et ce depuis de nombreuses années. Giacomo est devenu un ami de cœur, sa maison un refuge pré­cieux et la pro­messe d’un bonheur à retrouver…

I’m not sure how to express how much we abso­lutely loved the expe­rience we had staying at the Capo Zaf­ferano Villa but it was truly won­derful and peaceful. The view was the entire reason for booking this pro­perty and it defi­nitely did not dis­ap­point. Stunning!! If we did nothing else on holiday, it was to soak in the view…everyday. Giacomo was the best host, so kind and so intent that our stay was perfect. I know we will be back…I can’t imagine going back to Sicily and not staying at this villa.

Unsere zwei Wochen im Mela­grana — ein Ort zum Ankommen und Durch­atmen

Im Sep­tember 2025 durften wir zwei wun­der­volle Wochen im Mela­grana ver­bringen, ein Auf­enthalt, den man nicht mehr ver­gisst. Die Archi­tektur des Hauses schafft eine per­fekte Balance zwi­schen einer unkon­ven­tio­nellen Bau­weise und natür­licher Gebor­genheit. Auf den ersten Blick scheint dieser Spagat nicht möglich, gelingt jedoch. Überall spürt man die Ver­bun­denheit mit der Natur, die boden­hohen Fenster oder glä­sernen Ein­gangs­türen, in den Mate­rialien, den offenen Räumen und dem sanften Spiel von Licht und Schatten.

Besonders beein­druckt hat uns die Ruhe und Alleinlage des Hauses, die einen sofort ent­schleunigt. Man ist ganz für sich, und doch fühlt man sich umsorgt — dank der herz­lichen Gast­freund­schaft von Fre­derica und Pippo, die jede Begegnung mit Wärme und Auf­merk­samkeit erfüllt.

Das Mela­grana ist weit mehr als eine Unter­kunft- es ist ein Ort des Inne­haltens, der Inspi­ration und des Wohl­ge­fühls. Wir werden die Zeit dort in kost­barer Erin­nerung behalten und kommen ganz sicher wieder.

We abso­lutely loved it!

I can’t recommend Rooms and Blooms in Kaper­nacker enough! The flower farm is abso­lutely breath­taking, and there’s nothing more peaceful than waking up sur­rounded by the scent of fresh blossoms. The house itself is warm, inviting, and per­fectly sized for a family— a true coun­tryside haven.

We had five lovely days at Johannes Neun, a great place for archi­tecture-lovers. The stain-glass windows give a special feeling to the space and when the sun shines the colours reflect beau­tifully on the walls of the wooden cube, in which the comfy bed­rooms are situated. After long walks around the lake and in the woods we were happy to return to what we called ‘our own cosy little church’.

La Mugletta is such a beau­tiful place, hosted by beau­tiful people! The elegant, peaceful setting, truly out­standing breakfast, and of course Ulla’s amazing pottery all make for a very special stay. We highly recommend.

Glück­wunsch zur perfekt gelun­genen Restau­rierung des his­to­ri­schen Schwarz­wald­hofes. Wir hatten den Fusenhof für ein ver­län­gertes Fami­li­en­wo­chenende gebucht und waren restlos begeistert. Niemand wollte abreisen. Ein bes­seres Kom­pliment kann einer Unter­kunft kaum gemacht werden!

Gerne wieder

A place that feels both tim­eless and deeply per­sonal. The design, the lake, the light – ever­y­thing is in perfect harmony. Staying here isn’t just about archi­tecture, it’s about atmo­sphere. JG

Wir waren Anfang Oktober für eine Woche zu viert im yellow house (nebst Neben­ge­bäuden) und hatten eine wun­der­volle Zeit. Das ganze Ambiente in der außer­ge­wöhn­lichen Anlage ist unbe­schreiblich schön. Neben den sehr geschmackvoll, hoch­wertig und sehr indi­vi­duell ein­ge­rich­teten Häusern, in denen es an NICHTS fehlt sind auch die Außen­an­lagen wun­der­schön gestaltet. Beson­deren fiel uns auf, dass es mehrere gemüt­liche Sitz­gruppen im Aus­sen­be­reich gibt, die alle über hoch­wertige Son­nen­schirme ver­fügen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Auch die Lage der Häuser ist sehr gut. Die Städtchen und Strände der Süd­küste und West­küste sind gut erreichbar. Ein beson­derer Tipp der Gast­geber war der traum­hafte Stand von Ode­ceixe (knappe Stunde Fahrt). Check in und Check out sowie Betreuung durch Marie-Anne, die Haus­ma­na­gerin vor Ort, waren top. Auch in Bezug auf Aus­stattung und Sau­berkeit der Woh­nungen war alles perfekt. Auch wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Wir haben in diesem wun­der­schönen Haus unseren ersten Urlaub als kleine Familie ver­bracht. Wir sind schon viel gereist in unserem Leben, aber diese Unter­kunft war mit Abstand eine der magischsten.

Man kann hier kaum noch von Archi­tektur sprechen, es ist vielmehr Kunst ein­ge­bettet in die Natur. Jedes Möbel­stück, alle Mate­rialien, jeder Fens­ter­aus­blick sind unbe­schreiblich schön und man merkt, wie viel Liebe zum Detail darin steckt und wie gut alles durch­dacht wurde.

Der Strand ist fuß­läufig in wenigen Minuten erreicht und überall gibt es Tiere zu ent­decken.

Wir werden defi­nitiv wie­der­kommen!

Wir haben eine wun­der­schöne Woche in der Villa Fran­cioli ver­bracht. Die Villa ist aus­ge­sprochen geschmackvoll ein­ge­richtet. Die Betten sind fan­tas­tisch bequem. Die Küche ver­führt zum Kochen — und die Sieb­trä­ger­ma­schine war die Wucht. Es war eine Freude, morgens auf­zu­stehen, sich einen Kaffee zu ziehen und sich an einem der vielen Plätze im Haus oder am Haus zurück­zu­ziehen und zu lesen oder einfach nur die Aus­sicht zu genießen. Sehr erholsam für uns alle ;). Vielen Dank liebe Frau Grau für die schöne Zeit in Ihrer Villa und Gra­tu­lation für die gelungene Reno­vierung und Ein­richtung. wir kommen gerne wieder.

We con­sider our­selves lucky to have dis­co­vered this sanc­tuary in sou­thern Europe and to have had the oppor­tunity to spend quality time there. The pro­perty epi­to­mizes the highest quality of archi­tecture, design and mate­rials, exuding sim­plicity, serenity, grandeur, and taste. The space is beau­tifully and thoughtfully laid out, offering ample room and excep­tional comfort. The archi­tecture of the house blends seam­lessly with its expansive sur­roun­dings, pro­viding stunning views, privacy, and comfort. We were extremely well taken care of by the owners and already look forward to our next stay there.

Our week at Maison 10étangs was simply won­derful. A true hidden gem. The pro­perty is huge and impressive – with 10 ponds, some of which are very large, giving the place a very special atmo­sphere. Pure nature ever­y­where.

The house itself is com­for­table, modern and cosy at the same time – ideal for a group. We par­ti­cu­larly remember cooking almost every meal on the fire ring, which is just perfect for con­vivial evenings in this setting.

Another high­light was the openness and hos­pi­tality of the owners – you not only feel welcome, but truly invited to enjoy the place in your own way.

If you are looking for plenty of space, peace and quiet, nature and comfort at the same time, you will be happy here. For us, it was the perfect mix of rela­xation, com­munity and little adven­tures – we would love to come back! So please, never book this house. We would be very dis­ap­pointed if the house were already fully booked when we wanted to come back;-)!

Im August haben wir eine wun­der­volle Woche in einem der drei stilvoll gestal­teten Appar­te­ments der Saft­station ver­bracht. Dieser besondere Ort strahlt eine stille, zeitlose Schönheit aus – ein­ge­bettet in die Natur, mit einer fast medi­ta­tiven Atmo­sphäre.

Die Ein­richtung ist bewusst redu­ziert, dabei äußerst geschmackvoll und hoch­wertig – mit feinen Mate­rialien, bequemen Betten und lie­be­vollen Details. Morgens duftet es nach Linden, und frische Brom­beeren lassen sich direkt fürs Früh­stück pflücken.

Die Gast­geber sind herzlich, unkom­pli­ziert und auf­merksam – ihre Hand­schrift als Architekt und Gra­fi­kerin prägt das Haus auf sehr per­sön­liche und inspi­rie­rende Weise.

Die Umgebung bietet viele schöne Ent­de­ckungen – und wer zwi­schen­durch etwas Stadtluft schnuppern möchte, ist schnell in Kopen­hagen.

Ein Ort voller Ruhe und Cha­rakter, den wir sehr emp­fehlen und gerne im Herzen behalten.

We had a truly unfor­gettable stay at this beau­tiful house in Com­porta. The archi­tecture is abso­lutely stunning. The house is modern, elegant, and per­fectly inte­grated into the natural sur­roun­dings. Every detail of the design reflects quality and care, making the home both stylish and com­for­table.

One of the high­lights is its unbeatable location: just a very short walk to Pego Beach, one of the most beau­tiful and relaxing spots in the area. It made our days feel effort­lessly serene, with the beach right at our doorstep.

We were also warmly wel­comed by the owner, André, who made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. His hos­pi­tality was excep­tional and greatly enhanced our expe­rience.

Highly recom­mended for anyone looking for a peaceful and stylish retreat by the sea.

As an architect, it was a pleasure to stay in a carefully designed holiday home like Quinta Da Lila. The house, its sur­roun­dings and the wider envi­ronment have resulted in an inspiring yet relaxing holiday ;)

We wanted to express our app­re­ciation for the design and all fea­tures we were able to enjoy at the quinta. What we cer­tainly want to point out is:

the fan­tastic design and attention to detail, the chosen fur­niture pieces, the artwork, even the candles => it gives the house a per­so­nality and defi­nitely distin­gu­ishes this place from all typical second resi­dences available for rent during summer

the magni­ficent sound system which we enjoyed during the colder evenings while reading a book in the cosy living area; the fresh fruits we could go and grab in the sur­rounding trees; the dif­ferent lighting sources for inside and outside, such that we could adjust the light to the desired mood; the fully equipped kitchen, which pro­vided all necessary tools and fea­tures we could wish for, and last but not least: the very com­for­table beds

Con­gra­tu­la­tions to the owners, local house manager and cleaning staff to guide us and welcome us in an impec­cable house we would defi­nitely recommend to family & friends!

Lovely accom­mo­dation in a great location, near the public swimming pool of Mellau, near the mountain lift and near the local restau­rants and super­market. We stayed with our two young children and barely needed to use our car.

The house was very clean, well equipped and luxury standard. In bad weather the covered terrace is an extreme advantage, we have sat outside for breakfast and dinner every day (we did not have the best weather sadly during our stay). Also spotted deers more than once passing through the garden :-)

I also came for cycling and I was very happy with the separate and locked storage room next to the terrace to store my racebike and equipment.

The hosts are very fri­endly, caring and easily acces­sible for ques­tions.

We have been sear­ching for the perfect holiday home in Liguria and Tuscany for some years now, and we finally found it this year when we stayed a week at Villa Sorriso. The house is perched on a rocky hill very close to the water. It has been gently reno­vated, and you can sense that this is a true family home—not just a rental pro­perty.

We were a family of eight, including a two-year-old child, and the house was perfect for a family getaway. The kitchen is very well-equipped, and the gas bar­becue outside was used fre­quently. The house is within walking distance of Cas­tig­li­oncello, an authentic seaside village mainly visited by Italian tou­rists and locals. This creates a very charming and relaxed atmo­sphere.

We will defi­nitely be back and can highly recommend Villa Sorriso to anyone seeking Italian beauty and authen­ticity.

We had a fan­tastic expe­rience staying at this beau­tiful house in an abso­lutely stunning location. The archi­tecture and design of the villa are truly unique – modern yet per­fectly inte­grated into the natural sur­roun­dings, with breath­taking views of the sea. We stayed here for a pho­to­shoot, and the setting could not have been more ideal. The light, layout, and ambiance of the space all con­tri­buted to a great result.

The host, Giacomo, was also a real pleasure to deal with – fri­endly, responsive, and very helpful throughout our stay. He made sure we had ever­y­thing we needed and offered great local tips as well. If you’re looking for a special place to stay that com­bines ele­gance, tran­quility, and cha­racter, this villa is a great choice.

We had a won­derful holiday in Men­zen­schwand. The house is an archi­tec­tural gem. It is very spa­cious and light, the terrace has a fan­tastic view of the valley, the kitchen is well equipped and ever­y­thing is at hand. The beds are com­for­table and the bath­rooms are beau­tifully finished and prac­tical. In the sur­rounding area, you can go for beau­tiful walks, swim in the spa and play tennis at the local tennis club. The bakery in the village can deliver to your door ;-) We will defi­nitely be back!

From the hill, we look down on the village. We can easily spot our holiday desti­nation. It has the pro­por­tions and appearance of a late medieval church. A bit mys­te­rious. The first floor is entirely ours. Of the six beds, we leave four unoc­cupied. The route from the living room to the kitchen feels like a stroll, a jaunt under beau­tiful vaulted cei­lings. I say to my partner: see you later! The living room is the most com­for­table place in the house, with a remar­kable amount of light coming through the see­mingly modest windows. With the reno­vation and repur­posing of the Scar­pa­tetti house, the initiators have shown vision and courage.

Wir haben das Frän­kische Frei­licht­museum besucht: Zur per­fekten Ein­stimmung auf unserer Kurz­reise haben wir zu dritt im ent­zü­ckend reno­vierten Ickelhaus 2 mit seinem groß­zü­gigen Garten gewohnt, die gelungene Kom­bi­nation aus orgi­nal­ge­treuer Ein­richtung und modernem Konfort — als hätten wir im Museum selbst gelebt! Nicht zu ver­gessen der freund­liche Empfang, die per­fekte Aus­stattung in Bad und Küche und die Sau­berkeit.

Wir hatten sehr schöne Som­mer­ferien im Palazzo Marconi. Ange­fangen mit einer äus­serst ange­nehmen Empfang, guten Tipps für Restau­rants, Bagnos, einer wirklich schönen Wohnung mit wun­der­schöner Archi­tektur, guter Kli­ma­anlage sodass wir gut geschlafen haben, gut aus­ge­stat­teter Küche, dem soeben fer­tig­ge­stellten Pool und im All­ge­meinen wun­der­schöner Ter­rasse. Die Lage ist mittig, sodass das Meer zu allen Seiten hin in guter Zeit erreichbar ist. Besonders her­vor­heben möchten wir auch die Freund­lichkeit der Men­schen im Salento, die tolle Bäckerei und der super Fisch­laden in unmit­tel­barer Nähe. Gerne wieder!

Wir sind Wie­der­ho­lungs­täter und endlich hatte es geklappt — mit etwas Vorlauf konnten wir das Zeit­fenster buchen und haben uns schon lange vorher sehr auf diesen Urlaub gefreut, denn wir wussten ja, was uns erwarten würde. Und es war wieder einfach traumhaft!!!

Den anderen Beschrei­bungen bezüglich Archi­tektur, Lage und Aus­stattung ist wirklich nichts hin­zu­zu­fügen. Ein traum­hafter Ort!

Wir emp­fanden die Spa­zier­gänger auf dem Deich auch eher ber­rei­chernd, fühlt man sich doch so wie in einem Theather und bhat so immer den besten Blick auf die Bühne.

Das Wetter hatte — typisch däni­scher Sommer — alles zu bieten aber das war an diesem Ort absolut kein Problem. Wer Ruhe sucht und endlose Spa­zier­gänge in der Natur und am Strand mag, der ist hier genau richtig!

Unser per­sön­licher Favorit ist die Außen­dusche, die einem zu jeder Tageszeit den direkten Kontakt zur Natur beschert.

Wir kommen wieder ‑sicher!

We were in Casa do Pego in late May-June. This was our second time. In this European paradise — Com­porta — Casa do Pego is a jewel. For its location, inte­grated into nature and very close to the beach, the house is unbeatable. Beau­tifully designed, tas­tefully fur­nished and very func­tional. The owner, André, is always available to give advice when needed. We believe that one cannot have it much better than that. We look forward to our next holiday in Com­porta, where one finds some of Portugal’s best restau­rants and a unique and stunning nature!

A heaven of peace with minimal design rooms and beau­tiful views. The house is very com­for­table whether we were inside or outside, by the pool. Our host, Gianluca, was very kind, he made us feel at home.

The area around Noto is beau­tiful with so many things to do.

We stayed for 8 days and were upset we couldn’t book it for a longer period. We are looking forward to be back.

We had a very pleasant stay at the Klara flat. The con­tem­porary con­s­truction respects the tra­dition of this purely Bavarian locality, with its church boasting a bulbous bell tower, farm­houses, and a charming square with a fountain. Great care has been taken in the choice of fur­niture and fit­tings, and the faci­lities are very good. The coffee machine deserves a special mention — it’s so beau­tiful that you don’t dare use it! There is also a lovely sauna in the garden.

Our hosts Anna and Mat­thias pro­vided a very warm and attentive welcome.

In short, it’s an excellent base for exploring this beau­tiful region, which is rich in monu­ments (notably Lin­derhof Castle and Wies Church), lakes (including the famous Eibsee and the chic Tegernsee) and stunning land­scapes.

La Mela­grana ver­zaubert. Ein­ge­bettet in die schöne Land­schaft mit Oliven‑, Zitronen‑, Orangen- und Man­del­bäumen. Man ist ganz für sich, hat aber doch nicht weit nach Noto oder an die schönen Strände im Natur­schutz­gebiet Ven­dacari. Mit dem herr­lichen Pool kann man ganz ent­spannt den Tag ver­bringen. Ein wun­der­schönes Urlaubsziel. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

10ètangs is paradise! We had a won­derful stay and couldn’t have wished for more. The house’s archi­tecture is stunning. It’s already a real pleasure to just sit and enjoy the house and its great views from all angles. But this is not all, 10ètangs is per­fectly equipped with cooking equipment, life-vests, SUP, hot tub, wood fire grill a won­derful swimming pond to name a few. It’s an incre­dibly peaceful place. Great for relaxing, charging one’s bat­teries while eating deli­cious food from the local bakers, but­chers and markets.

Anne and Jean-Luc are fan­tastic hosts and our children felt very welcome, too. All our thanks go to them and we would defi­nitely love to visit again.

From the ori­ginal design concept to the final exe­cution of the works, the creative re-pur­posing of Wachter has clearly bene­fitted from superb attention to detail. While compact, it pro­vides the perfect balance of relaxed intimacy and a feeling of space, yet at no stage has design been allowed to usurp function. The views afforded by the great location in the won­derful city of Har­lingen and the close pro­ximity of excellent public transport links combine to make Wachter a true haven.

It was a mar­velous, special and beau­tiful location. We enjoyed every minute of it! Also because of Ulla & Eberhard as our hosts. Always there and they gave us very useful infor­mation about the sur­roun­dings. And everyday a dif­ferent and deli­cious breakfast. It is must see!

We had a lovely stay in the beau­tiful apart­ments with the lovely hosts. Stayed with two small children and the host happily offered baby bed and chair. Tra­veled tog­ether with friends who had the apartment next to us and it worked great. Sauna room is very nice and in the house every detail down to teabags is well chosen and cared for. We stayed in spring time but I think the place is great all other seasons too. Close to nature and hikes in dif­ferent dif­fi­culties. Recommend!

ein tolles haus für kleine gruppen! was auf den bildern nicht gut rüber­kommt, ist die lage: der kleine ort ist sehr nett, vor dem haus ist ein kanal in dem regel­mässig kleine boote vor­bei­fahren, am wasser gibt es einen kleinen garten, wo man sitzen und den booten zusehen kann. hin­tenraus der blick in die weite des polders. das haus ist super aus­ge­stattet und hat viele über­ra­schende und span­nende details!

zwei nächte im ahoy und es war wirklich super! das kleine haus ist detail­reich gebaut und hoch­wertig aus­ge­stattet. unten schlaf­be­reich und bad, oben küche und wohn­be­reich mit tollem blick auf den hafen und die ein- und aus­fah­renden schiffe.

der bahnhof und der anleger für die fähren nach vlieland und ter­schelling ist gleich nebenan.

har­lingen ist eine schöne kleine stadt mit viel geschichte, die häfen sind voll mit alten booten (im sommer auch mit segel­jachten), nette kleine läden, restau­rants und cafes.

alles sehr zu emp­fehlen!

Diese Unter­kunft ist ein abso­luter Traum. Von Archi­tekten lie­bevoll an diesen beson­deren Ort designed. Sehr hoch­wertig aus­ge­stattet, privat und aus­rei­chend Platz für 4–6 Leute. Die Sauna ist toll, der Hot-Tub ist ein­zig­artig. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder! Vielen Dank, dass wir in Eurem tollen Haus ein paar Tage geniessen durften

We met Boris Kajmak com­pletely unaware of his project of con­ceptual revi­val/re-inter­pre­tation of stone houses in his hometown of Novigrad. We became fast friends on the grounds of his unique per­so­nality and jumped at the oppor­tunity to visit Novigrad and the houses he re-made, if only for a day. We spent around 24 hours there and had a glimpse and heard a lot about Kuća Kamena and other parts of this ongoing project. But staying in one of the houses and expe­ri­encing it first hand truly beats the talk. We stayed the night in Kuća Foto­grafa (The Photographer’s House) and imme­diately con­nected to the place. The first thing that catches attention is the clever and playful zoning of the house. Right from the get go it pulls you in its peculiar diagram which demands certain adjus­t­ments to usual rou­tines of moving through and occu­pying space. The other thing that grabs you is the careful balancing of the tra­di­tional building tech­niques and the logic of modern life, both of which reflect the par­ti­cu­larity of a position of a pho­to­grapher such as Nikica Karavida who lived and worked in a place like Novigrad during the period between two world wars. His pho­to­graphs arranged throughout the house are not your usual melan­choly triggers. They are actual phy­sical rem­nants of his par­ti­cular view of the world and his (modern) work as well as his gaze directed at life of his fellow town­speople. Some­thing similar may be said about Kuća Foto­grafa and Boris Kajmak. His genuine interest and dedi­cation to the material facts of tra­di­tional house building are obvious in every detail you can see, touch and use in Kuća Foto­grafa. But the mission seems to be some­thing else. It may be setting a stage that will help in cap­turing the wonders of an everyday moment in a carefully lit room, as pho­to­graphers do. In a nutshell, this remar­kable house instantly makes you look at things dif­fer­ently. If it can do so in only a night, I wonder what may be the effects of a longer stay. We will surely be back.

We stayed at La Mela­grana in April / May 2025 and had a lovely time. Federica and Danilo were very responsive and helpful throughout our stay. The house has a unique design which we app­re­ciated, taking advantage of the beau­tiful land­scape. The pool and solarium are a lovely addition which we greatly enjoyed. Noto is an easy drive away and the rest of Sicily’s beau­tiful sou­theast corner is all within reach. Highly recom­mended for those looking for peace and quiet in a unique home in a beau­tiful setting.

We had the extra­or­dinary pleasure of shooting part of our new feature film at Villa Capo Zaf­ferano in March 2025. This archi­tec­tural mas­ter­piece over­looking the Capo Zaferrano, on the nor­thern coast of Sicily, was designed by the the Italian architect Armando Barraja as a summer resi­dence for his family in the late 1980s. His son, Giacomo Barraja, also a gifted architect, was the perfect host to us, and a col­la­bo­rator, ensuring our pro­duction ran smoothly, opening up the entire villa, and its sur­rounds, for our film. He and his beau­tiful family sup­ported us in every way pos­sible, and we cannot thank them enough. We lived and worked at the villa, and had the most magni­ficent time. This is the perfect place for a film, fashion shoot, or indeed a Holiday!

We spent a few very nice days in the top apartment here. The com­mu­ni­cation with Kristin, the owner, was fri­endly and uncom­pli­cated. As we were tra­velling by car, a place in a local parking garage was reserved for us, which was superb. The location of the building is very good, in a quiet area of Cologne, but still very close to all attrac­tions on the city. We cer­tainly recommend this place! Thank you, statthaus team!
