From the outside, the three-part ensemble at the foot of the Auerberg mountain welcomes you with wooden façades – from old to new. The original farmhouse dates back to 1768, with a barn and cowshed added later. The entire Ebenrieder-Hof was restored, modernised and rethought in collaboration with architect Michael Felkner and interior designer Stephanie Thatenhorst. Since then, the old farm with a view of the idyllic Allgäu countryside has been used not only as a guest house, but also as a retreat and event venue.
Today, historical structures, clear lines, antique farmhouse furniture and traditional fabrics meet bold design, rich colours and surprising patterns. Like the ancient green tiled stove under the loft-like barn beams, which shines in a new atmosphere next to a red velvet sofa, large checked carpets and a dove-blue lattice steel staircase. Just one of many unusual combinations that exude personality and vibrancy.
Five characterful, bright holiday flats for up to four people each are available for those seeking relaxation, for design lovers or seminar participants. These are complemented by four farmers’ rooms which can be flexibly booked for additional guests. Each of the flats is an interplay of individual colours, shapes, textures and eras. In both quiet and loud tones. Always distinctive and with large windows overlooking the village and the countryside.
A sauna and a farm garden with an outdoor pool, sun terrace and raised beds complete the retreat. The cowshed with its dark mica clay plaster invites you to yoga sessions with cow, cat and dog. The barn with its tiled stove provides a cosy space for exchanging ideas or for communal cooking sessions on the ground floor. Everything is possible here, from fermentation workshops to wild herb hikes and ceramics courses. A place as diverse and colourful as its aesthetics.

Owner
Jasmin and Stefan Hahn like to break new ground. Their careers are anything but straightforward: from butcher to political scientist, from perennial gardener to landscape architect. After living in Berlin, Munich and San Francisco, they discovered an old farm in the Allgäu and transformed it into a special guest house. The Ebenrieder is a place that reflects what they themselves enjoy: cooking together, working creatively with clay, gardening and, above all, creating a special atmosphere. Here, everyone can unwind and enjoy the moment - possibly under the apple tree with a view of the grazing cows.
