Bold colour combinations have transformed an old Umbrian stone house into a cheerful holiday home. Set on a hillside on the outskirts of the medieval town of Spello, this house is composed of different ancient buildings (the oldest walls dating to the 16th century). The interior is a mix of vintage pieces, travel souvenirs from various countries, and modern design. The expressive colour concept brings this mix of styles into beautiful harmony. Each room is decorated in a different color scheme: The kitchen’s colour palette, with two anthracite walls and green accents, was inspired by the artwork that hangs above the sofa. The red master bedroom on the first floor has a Japanese appearance, the blue bedroom is reminiscent of the sea, and in the yellow bedroom colors and furnishings from Laos, Cambodia and Burma create Asian flair. But the idyllic garden, complete with a small pool, places it definitively in Italy: It smells of Mediterranean herbs and offers a beautiful view of the green Umbrian hills.
