Finca Sonrisa

At Finca Sonrisa, Mallorcan architecture meets an exciting combination of contemporary design and Art Deco style. This 500 square metre villa is situated on a spacious property with panoramic views overlooking the lowlands and Tramuntana Mountains of Mallorca. A traditional country estate on the outside, the villa itself will surprise you with its modern interiors that transport the glamorous lifestyle of the 1920s into the present.

The villa’s centrepiece is the spacious living room with a bar suspended between two columns. Linen-covered wall panels, which can be opened to reveal the windows behind them, provide pleasant acoustics, indirect lighting, and create a striking visual effect. At the end of the room, a staircase leads down to the lounge area with a fireplace. On the other side, there is a dining area with a custom-made table and bench set, and behind it is the kitchen. The ten-metre kitchen unit merges into an outdoor cooking area, separated only by a glass screen. In fine weather, this terrace becomes the second living room with a covered dining area and a lounge corner with extra-long benches. The 5 by 16 metre infinity pool invites you out to swim – and offers sweeping views across the island.

The house has four bedrooms (three of them with an en suite bathroom); there is another bedroom in the adjoining guesthouse.

What to do

The finca is a 30 minute drive from the island’s capital of Palma de Mallorca. Nearby: the town of Algaida with restaurants and cafes, Randa monastery, Mare de Déu de la Pau de Castellitx pilgrimage chapel, coastal beaches, hiking, cycling, and golf.

Why we like this house

A Mediterranean finca with the ambience of an exclusive club. The bar, professional cuisine, and lounge areas invite you to enjoy wonderfully relaxing days (and nights) with friends or family – indoors and outdoors.
