Inspired by a glimpse through the window of lush springtime green, we focus on the British Isles of Great Britain and Ireland in our May newsletter. Ireland is known as the Emerald Isle, but on mainland Britain too, nature is clothed in her finest green. Holiday homes on the British Isles are just as diverse as the landscape. They range from a B&B with gourmet restaurant on the island of Inis Meáin in western Ireland, an old church in north-east England’s idyllic hills, through to a holiday home in a surreal gravelscape on the east coast of England. We would like to present in more detail here a sample selection of three properties: a “floating” home in the county of Suffolk as an example of British eccentricity, roundhouses inspired by prehistoric structures on the coast of the Scottish Highlands and a remote timber house on the Isle of Skye.
