The Neue Nationalgalerie, designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and a globally admired architectural icon, celebrated its reopening in August 2021 after six years of renovation.
On view, among other things, is the exhibition “The Neue Nationalgalerie. Its Architect and Building History” (22 August 2021 to 2 July 2023), which is dedicated to the building history of the New National Gallery and the work of its architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. The two focal points are the construction period (1965-1968) and the basic renovation by David Chipperfield Architects in the last six years (2015-2021). Selected works of art from the collection of the National Gallery that relate to the architecture of the museum complement the documentary exhibition. Further information
