Villa Drei Birken – Betulin
Villa Drei Birken is part of the Rainer Family Resort in the Sexten region of South Tyrol. Built in the 1960s, the building has been extended by a modern annex with six apartments. From its entrance side, the structure has a closed façade and looks like an detached building. On the slope side, however, the annex opens out to the valley with large window fronts and is connected to the main house on the lower floor. Although its style is entirely different to that of the old villa, the new building blends in harmoniously with its surroundings by virtue of an unobtrusive choice of colors and materials. Larch wood, pre-oxidized copper and glass characterize its exterior. This straightforward, simple style with refined details continues within the apartments, which are fitted out with custom-made birch furniture.
