Set in the Tuscan Orcia Valley, Villa Vergelle resembles a traditional agricultural building from the outside. Behind its old walls, however, the villa embraces a modern industrial style: concrete flooring, visible steel beams, large windows and an open living area on the ground floor combine to create a loft-like ambience. The monochrome color scheme emphasizes the architecture and the texture of different surfaces; furniture made of old wood adds warmth to the cool look. The 100-square-meter living area offers plenty of space for an open kitchen, a long dining table and a cozy lounge corner. The villa features two double rooms and a room with bunk beds suitable for both adults and children. Each bedroom has an en suite bathroom in Moroccan Tadelakt. The house, which is situated on a slope, is surrounded by a large garden with cypresses, oaks and pines. A staircase leads down to the 6 x 12 meter large pool overlooking rolling green hills.
What to do
The villa is located in the heart of Tuscany, near Montalcino (14 km) and Pienza (22 km). Siena (43 km) and Montepulciano (69 km) are also easy within easy reach. The area is famous for its wines. And you can reach the sea by car in one hour.
Why we like this house
A Tuscan countryside idyll outside, an urban loft inside: an outstanding combination!
