Weinloft II

The south of the Austrian Burgenland is famous for its traditional Kellerstöckl, the old wine cellars of local winegrowers. Weinloft II is a modern interpretation of these small houses, mostly built into the hillside. The 40 m2 house is situated in the middle of a vineyard and opens out with a glass front over two levels to views of the Pannonian lowlands. The façade made of larch wood lamellas of different widths breaks up the clean lines of this linear building. The terrace is framed by a slat construction built in front of the glass, which refers to the typical pergolas.
Inside, the combination of concrete and wood as well as the soft natural tones of the furnishings defines the relaxed ambience. The wine loft extends over two levels: on the lower floor there is the living area with a sofa bed, small dining table, small kitchenette and a fireplace. A filigree steel staircase leads up to the sleeping gallery with a double bed and a free-standing bathtub as a highlight. The view extends across the vineyards all the way to the horizon.
In addition to the terrace, Weinloft II also features a sun lounger in the vineyard.
