Gift tip: Our latest book Places & Visions

Now it’s high time to think about Christmas presents! A wonderful gift for all lovers of outstanding architecture is our latest book Places & Visions.

After Houses & People and Space & Time, the new title completes the current trio of books from HOLIDAYARCHITECTURE.

Every place has its own innate, intrinsic potential. Sometimes it is almost immediately tangible, shimmering impatiently beneath the surface, just waiting to be brought to light. Often it lies dormant, hiding shyly or has simply been forgotten over time. Then it takes people with a keen eye and a feel for the essence of a place, for unpolished pearls and daring possibilities. This gives rise to visions that find expression in architectural projects that masterfully showcase the character, context and history of a place – it’s simply a wonderful place to spend a holiday. On the following pages, we will once again take you to special holiday destinations in Europe whose architecture and hospitality culture set new standards – from an enchanted Pyrenean castle with a modern twist to a tête-à-tête of exposed concrete with an old farmhouse, from a lonely wooden hut under the dancing northern lights to a built homage to the contemporary history of a quiet valley.
