Like a group of friends, the eleven holiday homes stand on the edge of the forest of idyllic Lübbesee. Each with a hexagonal floor plan and a green view – partly left as bungalows, mostly raised, all with the same basis and yet each renovated with its own character. An exciting project full of community spirit and individuality.
Leisure time is a priority at Lake Lübbe, which stretches between the historical backdrop of Templin and the vast nature of the Schorfheide-Chorin biosphere reserve. And it has been since 1909, when Prussian postal workers were sent to the river-like lake in the Uckermark to regenerate in the fresh air by the clear water. Only 50 metres from the shore, architect Wolfgang Grieger had designed a holiday complex with eleven bungalows and unusual layouts in the early 1990s. About 30 years later, these were rediscovered by an architect and, together with friends and acquaintances, completely renovated, extended, painted, replanted and furnished in a contemporary style. Each holiday home for rent is as different as its owners, and yet their arrangement, idiosyncratic shape and subtle colouring create a harmonious ensemble that blends unobtrusively into the landscape and opens up a variety of perspectives.
All of the houses are situated next to and in relation to each other in such a way that privacy is guaranteed, and the large panorama windows of the living rooms face directly onto the water and the forest. A focus worthy of preservation, which in the course of the renovation of ten of the properties was extended by a metal-clad upper storey in timber construction. Thus, in these differently designed accommodations, there is not only enough space for six to twelve people, but one can also enjoy the beautiful view from the bedroom and the large balcony. Sometimes the kitchen has been made larger, sometimes a fireplace has been added to the living room, sometimes the bedrooms have been extended or an additional bathroom with sauna has been installed. All around, nature invites you to be outside at any time of the year. Together or all to yourself.
