North Sea and beach are just around the corner and the city center is also very close: “Ella am Meer” (Ella by the sea) is centrally located in Westerland on Germany’s most northern island of Sylt. The 100 year old building was formerly a guesthouse – run by the owner’s mother Ella who accommodated guests until her eighties. The hospitality and the warm spirit of Ella live on in the now completely renovated house.
Historical elements such as wood paneling, a hinged door or the wooden staircase in the hall have been maintained. However, the many small rooms have disappeared and the buildings now is divided into four living units. The apartments “Grey Ella” for four people and “White Ella” for two to three people have access to the garden. The apartments “Green Ella” and “Blue Ella” are located upstairs and can accommodate four or two to three people. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual: young Danish design and design classics meet individual built-in-furniture and cosy corners for children.
