The haus und hof apartments in Hof near Salzburg embrace the art of reduction and are distinguished by refined simplicity. The terraced building structure with three holiday flats nestles up against the topography of the hillside property on the edge of the village and the forest. With dark wooden façades, large windows and green roofs, the staggered cubes blend inconspicuously into the landscape. The stepped arrangement creates terraces and garden areas for each flat that are protected from outside views. An underground car park makes the cars disappear from sight.
In the apartments, dark walls and ceilings, polished concrete floors, bright wood and modern designer furniture characterise the elegant yet casual ambience. Each flat has a patio, which allows daylight to enter the rooms facing the slope from the south and west, and also provides a rest area protected from wind and sight. The living area opens up towards both the patio and, with large panoramic windows, the terrace and a small garden. The garden extends over two levels and offers views of the Salzkammergut Mountains.
All the flats feature a similar timeless, Nordic-style design, but each has its own character: different colours—sometimes yellow colour accents, sometimes soft powder hues—luminaires or pieces of furniture create individuality. There are also differences in the amenities: Apartment 1 can be reached easily by lift from the underground car park, while Apartment 2 has a sauna.
What to do
The haus und hof apartments are only a 5-minute walk from the centre of the village of Hof, which is situated at 739 metres above sea level and is also known as the gateway to the Salzkammergut region. The lake Fuschlsee is only 2 km away, Salzburg can be reached by car in 20 minutes. Due to its location between mountains and lakes and in close to Salzburg, many leisure activities are on offer: hiking, golf, tennis, cycling, walking, running, mountain biking, cross-country skiing (in the neighbouring village), ski touring, culture and shopping in Salzburg.
Why we like this house
Architecture and interior design are of simple sophistication. Great importance was attached to high-quality materials and special details (from the carpentered kitchen to the circular seating arrangement in the patio).
This house is great for
Families (high chair, cot etc. are available) and friends. All three flats can be rented together and are then ideal for holidays with the extended family or with friends.

For us, haus und hof is the fulfilment of a long-held dream. We, that is Magdalena and David. Together with our two children we live next door to our apartments in a house where we have put a face to our pronounced love of detail and plain architecture. Our house is what we wanted to achieve for our dream. With haus und hof we wanted to make one thing above all else come true: feel-good holidays. For all those whose hearts, like ours, also beat for well-chosen items. Who loves to indulge in architecture and for whom design is an important element in everyday life.

Wir waren im Juni 2023 für zwei Wochen im Appartement 3 und wären am liebsten einfach eingezogen. Solch ein tolles Appartement findet man wirklich nur sehr, sehr selten. Obwohl man von den Bildern schon hohe Erwartungen hat, wird man beim Betreten des Appartement nochmals überrascht. Und es wurde wirklich auf absolut alle Details viel Wert gelegt, wie man es selten sieht (selbst die Armaturen unter den Waschbecken sehen schick aus!). Ganz, ganz herzlichen Dank, Magdalena!

Ihr habt einen wundervollen Ort geschaffen, der etwas ganz besonderes ist. Es ist ein Geheimtipp, der in die Welt der guten Geschmäcker rausgetragen werden muss. Ein Ort, der zum Bleiben und Wohlfühlen einlädt. Schlichtheit und dennoch die Liebe zum Detail. Die Kombination aus Holz und Schwarz ist einfach perfekt. Euer Ort ist inspirierend und lädt ein kreativ zu sein. Man kann durchatmen und entschleunigen. Und alles das in der wunderbaren Region, dem Salzkammergut, am schönsten See, dem Fuschl See. Wir hatten das Vergnügen einige Tage in der Bodenständigen zu verbringen. Es war schlicht wunderbar. Das Appartement ist weitläufig, lässig-elegant und funktional eingerichtet. Die Räume großzügig und licht. Die gesamte Front ein Fenster. Die Terrasse erweitert den ohnehin schon großen Raum. Erwacht man morgens fällt der Blick auf die wunderbare Natur, die Berge, den Himmel und die Bäume. Trotz der verlockenden Landschaft haben wir viel Zeit im Haus & Hof verbracht. Man fühlt sich zuhause in der Ferne. Kurz: Ein besonderer Ort von aufmerksamen Gastgebern erdacht und realisiert. Wir kommen wieder.
Wir haben eine Woche Anfang März 2022 hier verbracht und uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Das Appartement ist hervorragend ausgestattet, alles in sehr harmonischen Farben mit schönem Beleuchtungskonzept und einem wunderbaren Ausblick auf die Berge.
Wir haben unseren Winterurlaub Anfang Jänner mit der Familie im Haus und Hof Appartement 3 verbracht! Im Appartement angekommen fühlten wir uns schon wie Zuhause! Das Gastgeschenk war bestückt mit selbst gebackenem Kuchen (einfach nur lecker) sowie regionalen Produkten. Die Regionale Schmankerl im Kühlschrank ließen keine Wünsche übrig und machten den Start in unseren Urlaub perfekt! Beim Aufstehen konnten wir den Sonnenaufgang und das Frühstück im selben Atemzug genießen. Die Lage des Appartements ist ruhig und Stadt nah! Wir waren in nur 30 Minuten direkt in der innen Stadt und konnten den Tag im Stadtleben genießen und den Abend in unserem heimeligen Appartement mit der ganzen Familie ausklingen lassen.

We had an excellent week during the Christmas period in appartement “drei” with our family.
A perfect place where all of us could come to rest and enjoy the quiet area and awake with a lovely view on the mountains by sunrise. The appartement is very well organized and designed, all is brand new and very clean. A comfort that everyone will like immedtaitely!
The surrounding nature and cities lie at your feet to be explored, the geographical location of “haus und hof” is perfect to go and see mountains, lakes, authentic cities and ski or snowboardspots within 15 to 30 mins drive. A little hour drivewill take you to the top of the ski walhalla of Salzburgerland.
The village people are all very polite and helpfull for tourists.

Was für eine coole Wohnung “Die Designverliebte” ! Architektur pur ! Perfekt im Detail und zudem idealer Ausgangspunkt für traumhafte Wanderungen im Salzkammergut, Cabriotouren in traumhafter Landschaft oder einfach nur Baden in einem der wunderbaren Seen in der nahmen Umgebung. Wir hatten wunderbare aktive Tage und es war immer ein Highlight zu unserer traumhaften Wohnung abends zurückzukehren und den Tag dort ausklingen zu lassen auf der großzügigen Terrasse mit Blick auf die Bergwelt.
