Ausstellungstipp: Looking for Light in /

Exhibition tip: Looking for light

This is an article from our archive. It was published in March 2022, so some details may no longer be up to date.

Looking For Light is one of the inaugural exhibitions at the new Bastian Gallery in Berlin, which was designed by John Pawson. It is Pawson’s first solo exhibition at the gallery.

The exhibition (until 1 May 2022) includes sixteen photographs taken in the home Pawson designed for his family in rural Oxfordshire. The works are characterized by the fact that walls, floors, and ceilings are no longer experienced as boundaries or conditions, but rather every finite surface becomes a medium representing light itself.

The new Bastian Gallery exhibition house in Berlin-Dahlem (pictured), opened in November 2021, was designed by John Pawson.
