In its series “Room Tour”, German television station SWR presents an artist couple who in 2005 bought the dilapidated residence of the former director of the Sayner Hütte iron foundry (Rhineland-Palatinate) and have since been gradually renovating the listed building. At the time, the run-down villa cost them exactly one euro, and the property was acquired for a further 30,000 euros.

The Sayner Hütte itself is now run by a foundation dedicated to the preservation of the monument ensemble.
