High above Merano, MIRAMONTI Boutique Hotel sits atop a sunny plateau by the edge of a forest. Established as a small inn in 1932, the hotel has been rebuilt and extended several times over the years. In 2012, Carmen and Klaus Alber bought the hotel and transformed it into a hideaway for nature and design lovers. They built a modern extension – The Owner’s House – and redesigned the rooms in the main wing. The facade of the main building was adapted to suit its modern interiors in 2018. Now the extension and the main building form a visual unit and the building radiates a simple elegance that awaits you inside. Further additions and conversions followed: With the Sky House, a cube built into the rock, the hotel was extended by an extraordinary guest room. The redesigned ground floor, including the restaurants, features Nordic-Japanese flair combined with local natural materials such as porphyry stone or oak wood.
The 44 rooms are designed in five different styles with natural materials – sometimes with midnight blue walls, sometimes with wood panelling or cement clay plaster. The furnishings are reduced, simple and of high quality. Muted colours set the tone of its relaxed ambience. The pièce de résistance, however, is the view of the Alpine scenery, put centre stage by frameless panoramic windows.
The magnificent view of the mountains will also accompany you while swimming in the spectacular salt-water infinity pool that rises above the valley basin, when cleansing in the forest sauna, or sitting back in the relaxation house. Or when you’re dining in the award-winning panorama restaurant, the classic restaurant, or on the terrace. The restaurants serve slow food and the 19th-century wood-panelled parlour offers down-to-earth South Tyrolean cuisine in an authentic ambience.
