An open, flexible spatial concept characterise the design of Studio Zempow situated in a small village near Germany’s Mecklenburg Lake District. The house comprises a large space with a kitchen at the centre as well as a dining area and a living area with a pellet stove. The sleeping areas on the outer sides can be separated by sliding doors. A staircase leads up to a sleeping gallery with a view of the starry night sky and down into the living area. The interiors are dominated by wood: the floors, walls, ceilings and the kitchenette are made of timber – the furniture too. This natural ambience is complemented by clay plastered wall areas and large panorama windows, which open the space out to the south-facing terrace and the naturally uncultivated garden.
What to do
Grilling on the gas grill in the garden, touring the area on electric fatbikes, swimming in the surrounding lakes, horse riding.
