Alte Goldschmiede Südpfalz

Alte Goldschmiede Südpfalz

Restored to its former splendour: situated in the Tuscany of Germany between vineyards and the Palatinate Forest, the Alte Goldschmiede in Klingenmünster shows its potential that has been hidden for almost 100 years. Once a private house with a stable, later a Goldsmith’s workshop and studio – under all the layers of the past decades, the owners have revealed the special features of the house again, renovated it to a high standard and added contemporary elements. The result is a modern holiday home with historical flair that can accommodate up to eight guests.
To achieve this, walls were stripped of wallpaper, wooden beams on the ceiling were exposed and re-sanded, the old oak wooden staircase was restored, and all the floorboards were refurbished. As was usual at the time, there were many small rooms, therefore walls were removed, and communal space was created. As a result, there is now not only a spacious living room with a cosy wood-burning stove and a sliding window to the inner courtyard on the ground floor, but also a large kitchen on the upper floor where all the guests can cook together. The adjoining conservatory has been transformed into a dining room, and when the weather is fine, you can even barbecue on the balcony between kitchen and dining room.
The old workshop on the ground floor is now a bedroom, the sales room a quiet and uncluttered study with a view of the hiking trail to Landeck Castle. The oak staircase leads to the upper floor, which contains the kitchen and dining room as well as two bedrooms and a bathroom. On the first floor, there is another bedroom with bathroom and above this there is a highlight for children: Because via a ladder they can reach another sleeping area with catamaran nets for playing or hanging out. And those who want to end the evening with a glass of Palatinate wine can make themselves comfortable in the inner courtyard under the linden tree or in the whirlpool. A versatile and atmospheric place to make plans, both big and small.

What to do

Hiking – from walks around Klingenmünster to national hiking trails such as the Palatinate Wine Trail, cycling, stand-up paddling at the nearby Seehof, a visit to Landeck Castle as well as other castles and fortresses in the area, tour to various wineries or a trip to France (Wiessembourg is only 15 minutes away).

Andrea, Emilia, Juri, Laura, Laurin, Lutz sagt:
