Casa do Pego

Surrounded by sand dunes the exclusive holiday home is located just 400 meters from Portugal´s most loved beach Praia do Pego. The house – a composition of glass, concrete and terraces made of pine wood – has a simple and clean design and, with its 265 square meters, offers plenty of space for up to six people. By virtue of its large sliding glass doors, the ambience is airy and transparent, but the sheltered courtyard also ensures complete privacy. On the large roof terrace with its heated pool you are totally undisturbed and can swim here even in winter.

What to do

Horseback riding on the beach, dolphin watching on a catamaran, bird watching, sailing, diving, biking, surfing, golf, trips to the historic cities and sites, wine tasting and experience some of the best portuguese cuisine.

  1. Really lovely place not far from the beach and great restaurants around. Very comfortable and calmly. We had a great stay and would love to come back!

  2. My husband and I spent a blissful week at Casa do Pego in late September 2020. The house is absolutely stunning – so airy and spacious but also incredibly comfortable. The rooftop pool is spectacular. We loved exploring the local beaches and were spoilt for choice with the top class beach restaurants at Pego, Carvalhal and Comporta beaches – Cavalarica in Comporta village was a highlight. Andre was a fantastic host – the whole booking process was very smooth and any questions we had were answered swiftly. Casa do Pego is an absolutely first class holiday rental which I hope we’ll be able to visit again soon.

  3. We (family of five) just spent two weeks of summer vacation end of July / early August at Casa do Pego. We truly enjoyed it! Here are the key highlights:
    – The house: as stunning as on the photos, tastefully furnished and equipped with everything you need.
    – The location: just perfect! Beautiful, quiet surrounding. And it’s just a 5mins walk to the beach (where you have everything you need from sun beds / shades, beach bar, Restaurant Sal, etc.) or a 5-10mins drive to tons of other great restaurants
    – The area: great! Gorgeous landscape, kilometers of white untapped beach, no mass tourism, beautiful small villages, totally relaxed atmosphere and – if you need more vibe – perfectly suited for a day-trip or two to Lisbon
    – The host: as attentive, responsive and helpful as one can be! Thanks for everything Andre!

  4. We have just returned from a fabulous week at Casa do Pego. The house is beautifully designed and decorated. Managing to be stylish and yet extremely comfortable. We particularly loved the breezy rooftop pool and sipping sundowners on the deck overlooking the fields. Andre kindly organised rental bikes which we used all week to get around, it’s just a short few minutes ride to Pego beach which is breathtaking. We also rode to the beach at Carvalhal and around town. Imagine Surf school at Pego was superb. Andre’s many restaurant recommendations were excellent – we tried several and all were good . We particularly enjoyed Cavalarica in Comporta combined with a walk around the lovely shops there. Sublime’s burgers were a hit with the children. Sunset beach horseriding is not to be missed. Huge thanks to Andre and his family, we had a really wonderful and much needed holiday at his beautiful and fabulously located home.

  5. Just spent a great week, family of 4, in the midst of the virus crisis. This was our second time in Comporta (great vibes wonderful restaurants and beaches). The villa is perfect for a small group; beautifully designed, easy living, great location…… We alternated our days between a walk to Pego Beach (Sal), a short bike ride to Carvalhal Beach (the new Sublime beach Club), and a 15 min drive to Comporta Beach (Comporta Cafe). Could easily have made it 2 weeks. Andre is a brilliant owner/host. Given the virus it was touch and go if we could go from the UK and Andre and I were in daily contact and he showed a very considerate and flexible attitude as we faced possible cancellation. In the end we went, felt far safer than in the UK, everywhere in this region showed so much respect to the rules and given the low rate of infection in Alentejo it is incredibly baffling as to why the UK still has it on the red list (as of today). So overall this is a special place, the Comporta vibe is special, low key but classy; our 21 & 17 year old ‘London’ daughters want to go back next year. Rent a couple of bikes via Andre, take his restaurant recommendations, hire a convertible, pack light, eat well and get a great tan !!!
