Ferienhaus Casanova di Mesola in Umbrien, Gubbio / IT – Italy

Holiday home Casanova di Mesola

Where Umbria meets Tuscany and Le Marche, Casanova di Mesola is situated in a secluded location on a hilltop with panoramic views — a hideaway that combines nature, design and comfort. Gubbio, one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Italy, can be reached in 25 minutes, Perugia in 40 minutes and Assisi in 50 minutes.

Dating back to the 18th century, the Umbrian country house was extensively renovated in 2010 and refurbished in 2022. Old wooden beamed ceilings made of chestnut wood and natural stone walls meet a modern concrete floor and clear, white surfaces, traditional wooden furniture contrasts with design classics.

The house is set on two levels on the hillside: on the lower level, a large kitchen with a cooking island, a dining room and a living room with an open fireplace and gallery corridor merge seamlessly into one another. There is also a large bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and a marble bathtub on this level. Large patio doors provide access to the garden from all rooms and let the sunshine in.

On the upper floor there is a spacious master bedroom with en-suite bathroom, a further bedroom with en-suite bathroom and a studio and yoga room with 6 metre high ceilings and a large terrace that opens onto a forecourt with plane trees.

The property is surrounded by 13 hectares of land. The garden extends over various levels with a panoramic terrace, various seating areas under trees and a covered pergola with a pizza oven. The 15 metre long infinity pool offers sweeping views over the Umbrian hills.

We had a wonderful week in Umbria in Simon and Ans’ beautiful house and garden! It was the perfect place to relax and retank — A very big thank you to our hosts.

    David Jackson sagt:
